Kill all the germs!

I had the privilege of having Ashley Mather and Ashley Gomez (some college friends who are in nursing school) come to my classroom to teach my students about germs and how they are spread. Little did I know that we were using the DREADED "Split List" that day. So with my 19 girls plus 8 boys, Nurse Ashley and Ashley got straight to work! My girls enjoyed a wonderful presentation and most remember to be mindful of sharing germs.

Told you it was jam packed!!

Mikayla is so smart and loves to answer every question!

Yeah, I took the pencil out of her hair not long after this picture was taken!

Looking good Nurse Ashley and Nurse Ashley! ;) Btw, a boy walked by was was like "Are those doctors?"

Note the pouty boy in the red sweater standing in the front. He was literally like this all day...!

GERMS FOR YOU!

They love to share (GERMS)

The boys got to go first putting the "germs" on their hands so I could supervise them in the GIRLS bathroom.

Wow. My girls (+ 1 from Kinder) LOVE to spend time in the bathroom. These aren't my typical culprits however....

12:25-12:45

The 20 minute recess is the hottest time of the day and I love the moment that it's over. Don't get me wrong, I love that my girls get a chance to PLAY, SCREAM, RUN, and ENJOY BEING A KID....but having 100ish kids on the playground at once can be challenging and hectic. It's all I can do to supervise, assign laps, entertain, love/let me girls love on me, and fix up girls who fell on the asphalt.

We try to mix up playing with chalk, bubbles, and kickballs so that there is something to look forward to. I'm still coming up with creative activities for them to enjoy!

Here are some cute smiles from recess!!

Adasia is always making me laugh

Two of the most hilarious girls in my classroom

Timora is a sweet girl!

The famous "Nae Nae" as performed by Trinity and Kilan!

Breelyn

Breelyn used to be one of the most frustrating students, but she has already become the most lovable. After several pep talks, hugs, power struggles, phone calls with mom, and tears (from Breelyn),  she's greatly improved her classroom behavior. While she still loves to TALK TALK TALK, she's learning when is the right time to do so and is one of my biggest helpers. She has gone from continually having her clip on "Stormy" and "Off the Chart" to having her clip on "Sunny" and "Rainbow" countless times. EVEN DOUBLE RAINBOW!

This was the first day Breelyn was ever on Rainbow!!!!!

Because Breelyn was on rainbow, he mom agreed to let her be in this ALS Ice Bucket Challenge video for Facebook!!

Classroom Transformation (Where all the magic happens)

After hearing which classroom would be mine for the 2014-2015 school year I wanted to get straight to work on making it my own! I had about 2 weeks before I went to MD to work at Mt. Aetna Summer Camp (MAC) and about 1 week when I got back in August! A HUGE thanks to all the helping hands I had!!!!! I couldn't have done it without the help and moral support from Karen Cavin!!!! Seriously!!

Enjoy some pictures of the room!
